::[the moys go to harvard]::
after a 17 hour cross-country drive, my family helped me move in to my new place in cambridge. enough of this nomadic existence...i'm going to be here for a looong time. here are some snapshots from my family's very first visit to our country's oldest city!

first stop, harvard yard. it's really just grass and trees, but for some reason we felt compelled to take a photo here.

even though i was the one who took the graveyard shift on the drive to massachusetts, matt was so excited to get to the big H that he was climbing the walls. meanwhile, my parents introduced themselves to joseph story in the lobby of the law school library.

next, we took the opportunity to educate ourselves on our nation's history, which generally involves looking at a lot of red brick buildings and american flags. here is boston's old city hall, originally the country's first public school, where bigwigs like ben franklin and john adams enrolled. the park street church is to the right; it starts off the "freedom trail", a historical walk that winds through the city. next to the church is a burial ground where we got to see the tombstones of such famous figures as paul revere, john hancock, and mother goose (yes, she was real, her name was elizabeth...cool huh?). old old cemetaries are pretty fascinating.

of course, you can't leave boston without checking out the original cheers bar. the exterior of the building is the spitting image of the shot you see on the tv show, but the inside looks nothing like the set.

so there you go. after a few days of wandering boston, several trips to chinatown, and far too many episodes of getting lost on the impossible winding streets, the 'rents and the bro piled into the moymobile and headed back to illinois. i guess now's the time to settle down, start classes, and figure out what the hell i'm doing here.
